There are both session identifier (temporary) cookies that expire when you close the internet browser, as well as permanent cookies that are stored on the computer hard drive. The purpose of a cookie is to improve your user experience on the website. If you are a registered user, the cookie manages the log-in process and access to websites that are meant for registered users only. Cookies also provide us with an opportunity to follow and inspect the objects of interest of our users and thereby make our website more efficient.
